Sacramento Solar Cooking Festival
July 19th, 2014
10:00 am – 3:00 pm
William Land Park (corner of Freeport Blvd. and Sutterville Rd.)

This event is free to Solar Chefs and to the public. Chefs must register in order to cook at the park during the event. The first 30 chefs to register will receive a FREE SCI Color-change canvas bag on the day of the event! Online registration ends Wednesday, July 16th.

We invite solar chefs to come cook in the park. Due to Health Department regulations, we cannot share our solar cooked food with the public, we can only show them how solar cooking works. We CAN eat the food we cook and show people it is delicious. Please cook something you would like to eat to show the fun and ease of solar cooking. We have use of a large grassy area for our kitchen. Please bring any tables or chairs for your own use. There are trees at the park, but if you would like to have shade at your cooking area, please bring umbrellas. Pop-up shade structures will not be allowed in cooking area; however, these shade structures can be set up on the perimeter.

Please remember to bring your: Solar Oven, Food, Oven mitts, Chair, Umbrella, Table, and Water. For a family-friendly event, please do not bring alcohol.

The solar chef check in and set up will begin at 8:00 AM. The event officially begins at 10:00 AM. The public will be invited to roam among the chefs and cookers.

Thank you for sharing your love of solar cooking!

I understand I may not serve my solar cooked food to the public. I can enjoy my own cooked food and share it with my friends and family as a picnic.
