In addition to gifts of cash there are a number of alternative ways to support the work of Solar Cookers International (SCI). Other giving opportunities include:

• planned gifts
• gifts in kind

Gifts of stock

There are two tax advantages of donating stock to SCI. First, you receive an income tax charitable deduction for the full market value of the stock at the time it is donated. Second, you avoid paying any capital gains tax on the increase in value of the stock. You can invest in SCI and invest your cash in current stock. It's a win-win situation!

Planned gifts

You can designate SCI as a beneficiary in your will, trust or life insurance policy. A simple bequest in your will might read like this: “I give and bequeath to Solar Cookers International of Sacramento, California $ ________ (or _______% of my estate) to further the spread of solar cooking.”
