Part time contract work:
Solar Cookers International is looking for an experienced researcher and writer to investigate and synthesize data about successful, scaled solar cooking projects that can be replicated.
Solar Cookers International plans to release a white paper on successful, scalable solar cooking projects as a follow-up its 6th SCI World Conference on solar cooking, taking place in India in January 2017. A conference goal is gathering experts from many countries, so that SCI can strengthen the solar cooking sector through its leadership.
The successful candidate for the position will write summaries that will include locations, duration, equipment used, training tactics, costs and statistical evaluations of results. This person should have a strong working knowledge of solar thermal energy or climate science from an engineering, environmental science, or policy discipline.
Thanks to some restricted funding received for this project, SCI will distribute as widely as possible this paper about the most successful domestic and institutional solar cooking projects. This paper will include quantitative and qualitative metrics.
Project is expected to last 3 to 4 months. Both China and India have affected millions of people and it’s important to document and share the information about these projects.
SCI is an American NGO that assembles solar cooking experts from around the world to exchange information and to advance advocacy of the technology. Started some 30 years ago, SCI also works in field projects, research and education.
